Commissioners
John Seybert, Chair Redwood City Council Member Growing up in a small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains, I experienced the power and effectiveness of communities coming together and have always felt strongly that it was everyone's responsibility to serve for the benefit of the greater good. Just before moving to Redwood City, I served as a firefighter/EMT for the Felton Volunteer Fire Department and learned what it meant to literally put my life on the line for my community. In 1997, my family and I moved to Redwood City from the Santa Cruz Mountains and it didn't take long to decide this was "home" and to begin getting involved in the community. I was elected to the Redwood City Council in 2009 and again in 2013, also serving as Mayor from 2015-2017. I currently work as the Superintendent of Facilities for SamTrans. My wife, Donna, and our family love living in Redwood City and all it has to offer.
